Any of y’all have experience in dealing with this? I have a 2016 with the double moonroof that won’t open or close, from digging online it seems like a pretty common problem. Any of y’all have recommendations on how to fix or where to bring it? I’m in BR. Thanks in advance.

Might be the control module. I've had a similar issue on my steering wheel controls. I've heard Tri Care has Ford electronic assessment equipment

Thanks! Will give them a call. I’m afraid it could be something with the track/ hardware which may cost a fortune. It’s currently not closed/ sealed so it is leaking.

Yep. My buddy in Denver has a 2016 f-150. Visited him in January and tried to open sunroof in mountains. He has Exact same issues. He said Warranty didn't cover it or gave him runaround shite reason they couldn't fix it at dealer. So he's riding around in an expensive truck with a window in his roof.

It is a very common problem due to Ford using crappy plastic rails. They replace the whole assembly (minus the glass) so its going to cost you a small fortune. Once fixed, use some of this on the rubber where it contacts the body Krytox

If you are handy, you could try to fix it yourself Sunroof Repair

I had a f250 sunroof that wouldn’t close. Bought parts kit SunRoof Doctor for about $100 and took it to Glass Doctor. They installed the parts for less than $300. Dealer quoted me $2000 to fix it

The plastic slides in the track get dry rot and brittle thus break and the sun roof will not slide and seat. I had to remove the sun roof glass pull the loose pieces out and re-seat manually. Since I don’t use it I have no motivation to pay for the repair, dealership will ask anywhere from 1500-2000. This was on a 2013 model

Were you in the many truck threads making fun of Ram trucks?

Just checking.

I've had the same problem for a while and now the screen that retracts stopped working as well. Nervous to try and repair it myself out of fear it will get stuck open.

This is why I didn't get one in mine. Read online before I purchased that many people had issues with them including leaking.

If he's not over the mileage or years on the warranty and it's bumper to bumper he got played!

Exactly, in the same boat. Does yours leak? I’ve read that there are drains but it’s making me nervous to leave it like this
