Call Ford's corporate number. Say that them helping you cover the cost of repair would help restore your now tarnished faith in the brand.

If that doesn't get you under $300 out of pocket, start looking at a trade.

A large dual pane moonroof on a vehicle with a ladder frame that is presumably used in a way that could cause the body to flex slightly (towing and off roading) is very risky.

I would not buy one with the giant moonroof at all. I'm surprised Ford even offers it.

@dewster - good idea and thanks. i called and they are escalating the issue up the chain, not sure where this will go but it is worth a shot!
