This is why I didn't get one in mine. Read online before I purchased that many people had issues with them including leaking.
Yeah I can’t believe people would trust a F150 sunroof at this point.

It is a very common problem due to Ford using crappy plastic rails.
Built Ford Tough.

How do you repair with an Allen wrench? Would love to fix myself if possible

I had same exact problem. Dealer changed out the rail system and it hasn’t given any trouble since.

@slapahoe...what dealer did you bring it to, what was the cost if not under warranty? Thanks in advance

i had the exact same issue, it was the plastic slides and track, dealer did under warranty. When it happened again, i went across the street to ram.

May end up doing the same eventually. Unfortunately I’m at 45K, out of warranty so I will have to pay out of pocket Just trying to find out the going rate to get it fixed.

$1500-2K if you take it to Ford. Try calling a local owned auto glass shop. Sunroof is not much different than power windows.

Bought a 2017 with a sunroof in November 2017. Noticed it was leaking about 2 months later. Put it in the shop for a week where I bought the truck which was over 100 miles out of town. When I went to pick it up it was not fixed.
I put it back in the shop at a local dealer for about 4 weeks. Seemed to be fixed. I let it sit up for a couple of days when Barry came thru recently. I opened the door on a hot afternoon and steam rolled out of the cab. Every window inside was dripping wet with condensation.
Two weeks later it got traded in on one without a sunroof.

Well I should elaborate “fix” as in you can check the rails to see if the plastic slide pieces are damaged at that point the roof won’t open all the way or close. If that’s the case you can remove the glass from the inside using an Allen wrench, then adjust the slide in the closed position and reattach the glass. Now, I can’t use my sunroof unless I feel like doing all that crap every time.

@tiger in the sticks! Thanks!! Huge help. If there is a technical service bulletin, does that mean they should replace it/ fix it like a recall? Or will I still have to pay ?
