F-150 Lightning seems like such an odd choice to take from Texas to NOLA

How many times do you have to stop to charge that thing between Houston and New Orleans? Is there even a working non-Tesla charging network along that route?

Once to full (40ish minutes) or twice for 20mins and can use Tesla chargers

Probably just one quick top off

Idk but Ford can use the supercharger network.

It weighs 3 and a quarter tons. That’s a lot of mass moving.

I remember that target parking lot at the Louisiana ave exit in Lafayette having an arse load of charging stations. Don’t remember if they all Tesla or not.

This. Very quick acceleration.

And it moves quick. Not to mention no engine to disable by running into barriers.
Somebody on FB said that truck has been parked at the airbnb on Mandeville street for up to two weeks.

Watching the video...it was instant acceleration no way to avoid at all...much faster than a ICE engine...doubtful that was the intended purpose that he had a lightning but just an observation.

like others have stated too...very heavy...hard to stop especially with electric motors providing a lot of torque.

But again...don't think that the choice of vehicle was that sophisticate.

Electric vehicles are quiet (delayed attention), quick acceleration, a lot of torque, no gas engine so less likely to faulter.

Hmm if this was a planned attack it might well have been intentional

Electric cars hurt the Middle East as they don’t need gas

That seems like a bit of a reach...I doubt this dude holds allegiance to a O&G state in the Middle East since he had an ISIS flag.

They aren't in the O&G business.

But I def agree that this vehicle could have been chosen for its "abilities". I just think the chances are less than him just grabbing a random rental truck.

I would think an electric vehicle would make quite the explosion if an explosion was planned. Lots of explosive power in lithium batteries, especially that size and capacity

Like others said heavy and powerful too. Not to mention much quieter when you slam you foot on the floor

This is such naïve thinking.

The lithium doesn’t add to the explosion. I’ve blown up large batteries before. The explosion is based off the explosive yielded then there just a lithium fire to deal with after if you breach the enclosure, which isn’t as easy as you would think.

The vehicle is silent and fast, making it extra deadly because victims don't hear it coming. Perfect terrorist weapon. EVs should immediately be banned
