There's been multiple threads about the drive from New Mexico to Nashville through Louisiana and Mississippi?

How did I miss that?

Don’t talk shite about I-20! It’s our only interstate without random weekly shootings!

Leftists aren't welcome in Alabama. Especially North Alabama. The Ku Klux will get your arse in Cullman County.

Also, I thought the southern states are all about freedom? I've never seen anything like that out west.

Given your experience (i've never witnessed any such thing, but whatever) and the fecal infested drug addled streets of LA,SF or Portland, I'll take the South.

Without looking, I would bet a large sum of money that someone has already pointed out demographics.

Weird that where there are a large amount of black people, you have a very large prison population, huh? Want to debate the reason behind that, or do I need to post a few hundred recent youtube videos?

Why did I think that driving 70MPH on I-40 in Arizona and New Mexico was going to completely destroy my rental car?

I saw a sign just outside West Monroe that said "Narcotics Checkpoint Ahead" and several cars being searched by sheriff's deputies at the exit.

Like others said, that’s a trap. The cars you saw being searched were personal cars of the cops. They park them there and make people think they are being searched. They were likely stopped in the shade under an overpass.

I saw one of these drug enforcement stops when I was driving east of BR on I-12. I wanted to see if what I heard about them being a ruse was true so I exited. Sure enough, there were lots of police at the end of the exit. I came to a full stop and had a big smile on my face as I crossed over the highway and re-entered the interstate. They didn’t stop me; I guess they were still setting up or maybe I didn’t fit a profile.

This sounds like an amazing use of your tax dollars!

Speaking of which, I got an unasked for $1,000 direct deposit tax rebate from the state of new mexico last week for no reason other than filing a 2021 return. Did you get one?

No but I did get $52 sent to me via Zelle with the note “Beer money for Brandon” followed by a phone call from Brandon begging me to send the money back because it was all the money he had. It was on voicemails d he sounded drunk. Didn’t call back and didn’t return the money because I thought it was a scam. Money’s still in my account over a month later.

If you're driving from New Mexico to Tennessee and not flying & also have family in West Monroe, LA.. we all know you can't afford a vacation home. Especially the 2nd part.

Considering the states that lie between your start and end points, I'd prefer an eye closing trip.

I can vouch for the narcotics check point sign around Calhoun, but they have the sign right before an exit. They watch for people who make a sudden exit and only search those cars. Same old trick with dui checkpoints.
