With performance that appears to be the same or worse than the C8.

All those fancy materials don’t appear to give it much of an edge

The only thing we have to base the C8 performance on is what GM tells us. That's not really a legit assessment.

performance isn't strictly limited to hp and torque numbers

It's like every manufacturer wants to end their ICE sports car with the most HP.

I hope they get the R36 right and change the game like the R35 did.

I hope they don't price the next GTR out of the market. I would love to own the iconic GTR. Loved them ever since the R32s.

The horsepower / performance race has gone insane in recent years but it feels like Toyota/acura committed to certain performance numbers like 5 years before the actual release. Numbers that would have been pretty good back then, but pedestrian versus their competition at launch.

Johnny nailed it there. The Lexus LFA face similar issues itself.

If you buy new cars as an investment then you’re doing it wrong.

It's funny when people buy a new car off the lot thinking it's going to go up in value. Chevrolet will put round tail lights on the corvette in two years and no one will want this one.

I'd imagine most 911 owners could have bought a mid engined high performance car if they wanted one.

The corvette doesn't really add some new, previously unavailable type of car to the mix for new 911 buyers.

I wouldn't go that far...HUGE difference being in the market for a $110K 911 (base is $91K) vs buying a $200K+ mid engine exotic. Porschphiles are so devoted most would probably opt for the Turbo or GT3 if they could afford it over the alternative.

That 2006 5.4 was garbage though.

The Ford 5.4L got really shitty in 2003 or 2004 when they changed the head design.

The new 5.0L is better.

Need to take notes from Toyota and Acura and realize that hyping the new version of their most iconic name in their portfolio for nearly a decade before release is a recipe for disaster.

The new Supra and, in particular, the Acura NSX are very disappointing.

Disappointing to people who only look at stats...and only buy off stats to have “the best”, it’s just dick measuring. I’m sure the NSX doesn’t suck to own. It’s 0.2 seconds slower...blah blah blah.

What gave the original NSX the edge was the the ability to daily drive it. Cars have evolved and it no longer has that edge. The buyers that will opt for the NSX over everything else in the 160-$200K are living off nostalgia. $100K over the price of a new C8, GTFO with that....
