You can knock the place all you want, but it’s not overrated. It’s clean, has impeccable customer service and blows away anything remotely close to its competitors.
Yes, It’s just as gas station. But it’s the absolute best of its class in the south and sets an incredibly high bar for others to follow.
For that I’ll give them props.

Their $6 instant BBQ sandwiches and clean bathrooms are worth a stop.
Pretty much everything else about buc-ees is overrated unless you’re into giant bags of chocolate peanuts and clever signs for your patio and such.

Its actually not a bad little downtown. The buildings have businesses in them including several restaurants that are full when I drive through there. I guess a lot of people that live there commute to Dallas everyday.
