There’s a pretty simple solution to that feeling, should you choose it.

I think it’s true like the other poster said, I hate that stretch of Slidell to Hammond with a passion. I’m back home in the Bluebonnet area and I feel better.

I get that reality check every time I board a direct flight back to New Orleans. You always know when you are on a flight to MSY

This is such a dumb, loser take. And a perfect depiction of why Louisiana never improves.

Why? I was honestly asking. I don't think LA is as bad as a lot of others do, but I'm also not stupid and recognize that it has its issues, of course. And Baton Rouge too. I was simply asking why he lives here if he hates it so much, that's all. And he answered: family. Which is fairly common I'd guess.

So how is my simple question a "perfect depiction of why LA never improves"?

This made me depressed thinking about having to drive into that traffic ridden miserable place called Lafayette this morning.

When I’m heading back home from Texas and enter Louisiana I get depressed. Thinking I just gave up 4-5 days of PTO time for this shite hole. Makes me sick.

Everybody cheer up. Louisiana is the ugly friend you need to make yourself look better.

Imagine if Alabama didn't have Mississippi. Or Mississippi didn't have Louisiana? It is an important role.

We can all agree that thank god we don't live in Ohio.

Right. Because crying about how bad everything is, is somehow making things better

Man, isn't that the truth. Just got back from a nice family vacation in eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina. That 59 stretch through Mississippi is pretty dreadful, but entering into Louisiana, and stopping off in Slidell for gas is a sobering moment. The amount of litter and sketchy people drastically increases. Lots of areas and buildings are neglected and overgrown. I've never really had that "I'm glad to be home moment."

I’m dreading when they start the construction work on the interstate in Baton Rouge. Traffic is already a bitch. I’m not looking forward to a car breaking down or an accident and everything is shut down.

Give me a reason to love it other than the crawfish boils, hunting and fishing, and LSU and New Orleans Saints football.

I will say Louisiana has nice looking women compared to other states that I have been to.
Not the trailer trash on meth though.

I’m in Breckenridge CO right now and I can’t believe how trashy the roads and smaller cities are around here. It looks terrible.

Maybe it’s a bad time or something but man it’s got me wondering what the hell is the problem.

It looks like a trailer park near mamou.

The increase in marijuana use and level of give-a-shite are inversely related. Who knew.
