Every morning at 8am, I hear the national anthem.

They play it on the loudspeakers at the Belle Chasse Naval Air Station, which is near my house. Reveille.

It makes me proud to be an American. God bless our troops.

Baseball, McDonalds, hot women, big SUV's, firearms, capitalism. Build the wall. God Bless Africkingmerica.

I dont know if it's actually reveille, but the anthem goes off at 8:00 sharp, every day.

F18 Hornets just took off.

Reveille is first, followed by the national anthem. At least it was on Marine Corps bases

Reveille is not the national anthem
Reveille - sunrise/predetermined time established by command (raise the flag)
Retreat - sunset (lower the flag)

In the Navy, there is no reveille. There's Colors (the national anthem) which always takes place at 0800 and then Retreat is played at sunset.

Big deal. Us older folks used to wake up in the middle of the night to the national anthem on the tv every night. We didn't have to wait until 8:00am.

We called it morning/evening colors... but where I was stationed they always played reveille.
