how many people are living their fantasy of having an asteroid hit new orleans right now?
That would probably kill Metairie and Chalmette too assholes

Set it at 3° and let it skip like a rock to take out downtown BR.

I just dropped a mile wide asteroid on New Orleans. The wind created would be a 7,832 mph wind. Jesus! All trees flattened from Houston to Birmingham.

don't forget to mention the left and right coast cities..NY and SFran

dropped one in middle of Tokyo
1 mile wide, gold asteroid, max speed, 45° angle
28,436,339 vaporized on impact
42,155,544 killed by the fireball
20,469,498 dead from shock wave (all building in North & South Korea collapsed)(homes in Shanghai destroyed)
48,391,746 people killed by the wind (most of Japan get winds above 1,000 mph); (trees in Beijing are gone)
964,451 would be killed by the earthquake
140,417,578 total dead
might move it around that area a bit see what's the max i can hit

Gangneung, South Korea.
roughly halfway between Beijing and Tokyo
"only" 355,849 people would be vaporized by the crater
but:
189,151,917 die in the fireball
32,394,286 die from shockwave
183,306,037 die from the winds (13,770 mph peak) - EF% level winds over ALL of Japan, Shanghai, Beijing, etc.
549,385 die in the earthquake
405,757,474 dead.

Dropped a mile wide iron asteroid, max speed, 28° angle on mid-length between Hong Kong and Shanghai. 500,000,000+ dead.
I think somewhere between 25° and 30° is the goldilocks zone for entering the atmosphere? What angle does NASA use for re-entry?

I don’t even live in Louisiana and that was the first one I tried. Hit it with the largest iron asteroid going at top speed straight down hit. Took out most of the country west of the central plains.
