Ever had a parent beat you down? (Emotionally)

Mom regrets me ruining her life in '81, doesn't mind reminding me. I left the Catholic church and have to hear about it occasionally. She doesn't appreciate my open ways.
My dad was much more the protector, kept me isolated as a teen, but as an adult, we both resent her.

Both emotionally and physically here.
I’ve pretty much cut my parents out of my life. I reconciled for a season when my first born came, but it didn’t take long for the emotional manipulation to start again.
