Ever cut ties with a parent?

Have any of you ever had a falling out with a parent where you cut ties with them completely and don't plan to ever see or talk to them again or attend their funeral?

Dad left mom when I was 7.
Didn’t see him again until my high school graduation. Haven’t seen him since (I’m 53).

My mother once went crazy and verbally attacked my wife. It wasn't until a year later that I spoke to my parents.
It was too late the altercation made me lose a year with my dad. By the time I was able mend relations my dad only had 3 months left to live. My worst fears had came true. I will really never forgive my mother for that.

If they don't want anything to do with you that's fine. At least Wish them a HBD and Merry Christmas. My Ex drove a wedge between both my parents at some time. I missed a few of my dad's latter quality years

Yes, mother lied to me for 34 years about who my real father was. Then watched till I was 17 as the man I thought was my father beat the shite out of me daily and treated me like shite, because he knew I wasn’t his son..... frick that bitch

I did from age 14 to 26 or so. I regret it now because it wasn't due to them being a bad person, which I eventually grew up enough to understand.
Some people are just assholes and I totally understand it in this situation.

Yes. My mother was an addict. In and out of my life my entire life. She straightened up for about a decade and I finished high school living with her. Funny lady and great personality. I went off to the service and then shortly after I got off she fell off the wagon. I tried to stand by her but one day I hung the phone up and told myself I was done. I couldn’t let her ruin her life and mine. Sadly the biggest relief of my life was watching the corners van drive off the night she died. As I had my own children I grew to hate her even after death because I couldn’t understand how she gave me and her grandchildren up for that shite. Now she’s a distant memory that’s only brought up when my children ask about my “real” mom.
