he US economy should benefit from it. If the Europeans don't like that, they can build their own military industrial complex. And handle their own problems.
This, pretty much.
We’ve gladly assumed the mantle for over 70 years as Europe’s guardian against tyranny.
Now, some EU bureaucrat (since when have we been pro-EU around here, by the way) wants to bite the hand that feeds.

They’re not wrong. Lockheed and General Dynamics are literally making billions off of this war.
Among others.
We ended Afghanistan and the MIC couldn't do without that spending so they've now spent more on Ukraine than they were spending in Afghanistan.
It's all a racket.

Sure but that's not what is being suggested here. What they're claiming is actually absurd because all of the aid we sent.

Can't tell you how many documentaries I've seen about Afghanistan where millions of dollars were poured into an infrastructure project like building a school and the end result is a small, shitty cinder block building with a tin roof.

Obviously they'll funnel some of that to the politicians

Eh, they're both equally involved. One cannot operate without the other.

Same as it ever was.

Huh. Small shitty cinder block building
...kinda like the Washington state "bank" that FTX dude was using to launder some of this Ukraine cash.

I'm afraid you don't know how the aviation business works, senator. See, wining and dining Air Force dignitaries is common in our business. It's because we all want the big contracts. All the major aircraft companies do it. I don't know whether it's a good system... ...I just know it's not illegal. You, senator, you are the lawmaker. If you pass a law that states no one can entertain Air Force officers, well, hell... ...l'd be happy to abide by it.

I can't imagine being surprised by this "revelation"
Ukraine has been a slush fund for DC for decades for both sides of the aisle.
Trump, for all his foibles, got impeached for noticing.

has Oweo dropped by to seek some attention with a “why does it matter? “where do you find this stuff?” “does it effect your day to day life?” post?

Schizophrenic crowd here. US is both losing and profiting in Ukraine. Impressive.

Go look at the ukraine-Russia thread to see how many retards still believe this is about supporting Ukraine.
nobody beleives its about supporting ukraine, its about dealing a blow to Russia, our historical greatest geo-political threat.
so now according to some idiots around here, its not a good investment to spend less than 6% of our defense budget to essentially remove well over 50% of conventional military and prolly collapse one of the biggest dictators and human rights violator on the planet. LINK
how the frick do you come to that conclusion?
now personally i am an isolationist and hate 100% of any foreign aide and if it was up to me we wouldnt send a frickign dime to any country until things here were taken care of.
but lets look at it from money spent vs results since we are already going to spend the money period. if you look at it that away, its a good investment.
if we get to sell more O&G well that is just a cherry on top
not to mention this has gotten europe to get off their fricking asses and start spending more on military and to stop implementing insane green energy policies.
