Anyone heard when bossier parish may have power again? I live in Benton and heard 3 pm but that was just from a random guy at the gas station by my house.

The winds sounded the same as that hurricane that made its way all the way to north Louisiana a couple or few years ago .

I honestly didn’t know that a supercell thunderstorm could have winds up to 80 or 90 mph sustained for 20 minutes or longer

Well put. I made it to my office where I have power, AC and internet. We may bust out the air mattresses and stay here for the time being.

A few pics from the neighborhood FB group...

Man I was so beat last night I somehow managed to snooze through this monster and I'm usually a light sleeper. I woke up this morning to all the emergency phone alerts and texts from family checking on us. Never stirred through any of it.

It’s almost always the trees that cause the problems.

Hope you and the family get back to normal footing very soon.

Just admit it, you got drunk and passed out. It’s the O-T way!

Max wind gusts I have come across:

Mt. Pleasant, TX - 98mph*
Carthage, TX - 58mph
Longview, TX - 63mph
Lakeport, TX - 63mph
Port of Caddo/Bossier - 80mph
Barksdale AFB - 69mph
Shreveport Regional - 70mph
Shreveport Downtown Airport - 66mph

*The 98mph was from a storm chaser with a mobile weather station on his ride. The rest are from the weather bots on Twitter that post warning and storm report info. Each NWS office has one of these that they use.

My brother and his wife live just north of Pierremont off of Gilbert and my parents are just south. Lots of damage all around in that area. Houses are fine but my parents lost just the top off of a tree which seems odd

One side of my town is unscathed. The other side may not have power for days. Guess which side I'm on
