I went to that Sante Fe a few weeks ago for a quick sirloin - huge mistake. Service sucks, food was over cooked, hair in my salad, bartender poured the wrong beer out of their 8 taps, people talking on speakerphones at the table next to me. Absolutely the lousiest place I've been to in BR in my few months living here - on the tier of crappy chain restaurants, they're absolutely on the bottom.

Nope. Though I guess he might as well. I think he is given pretty much 100% control of it.

That place looks like food poisoning in a box.

Mi Padres in Prairieville-Overpriced Mexican and not very good.

Sante Fe Cattle Co.-Crappy chain restaurant that finally closed-wonder why it took so long.

GN Gonzales-I know of very few people who have actually purchased a bike there. I heard the manufacturers made them do some renovations recently as they were threatening to pull the dealership. If it weren't for the nearby plants bringing traffic to the area I think they would have closed long ago.

Any mattress store-You see these places pop up pretty often. I didn't realize mattress sales were that brisk.

Podnuh's BBQ-Used to be one of the only places to get legit BBQ back in the early 90's. A long slide downhill from those days.

Albertson's on Highland/Airline: They were the only game in the area for a while but now face some competition and the new Rouses won't help. They close the liquor part as early as 8pm on a Friday, baffling.

I like Mi Padres, and priced to keep the trash out.

Sante Fe Cattle was run outa biz in Prville by Mi Padres.

I go to Albertsons twice a week at least, and that sorry excuse for a bank called Chase. I buy my liquor in the afternoon, or earlier.

Best sesame chicken in BR. Egg rolls are mediocre...is that irony? Also, drive through only. Do not go in. Made that mistake over the holidays. Almost lost my life to a spider the size of a bowling ball. Always drive through.

ETA: Egg Roll King

Drove by NYC pizza yesterday and I guess I saw that place pats next door and had thought it changed names already, but it is still there. It was def closed though. Just seems kind of stupid to close down because of someone died in the family, unless they own the building they are wasting money on rent, and I don't see how you could keep any employee if you are closed for that long.

Pool hall.. Not many of those around BR, so it stays open.

Fox and Hound,

Closed. I frequented that place for a while, but it really turned shitty with new management and was not getting any business.

Risked a trip to the ghetto???

I don't know how some of you survive if going to Tony's and the wienerzel are considered dangerous. It's kind of mind blowing so many of you have such one track minds

The guy who drove his convertible car up into the handicapped spot?

Yea it was bad in the last couple years. The bartenders were still on time though - Marina especially.

While I do feel for the employees affected and don't necessarily know that it is the best decision since they seem to have other employees, I don't think it is "stupid". Lots of ethnic restaurants are family-run and close down for all kinds of reasons. Anthony's closes when they visit Italy. Quite a few local Thai, Viet, etc. places have closed for things like that because their staff is family. This isn't unheard of.

Yep. And it's the only one I've ever been where I don't feel COMPLETELY in a foreign land. Pool halls attract a certain breed of people that keeps amateur pool players far away.

You're the wrong person to argue with in this thread. I guess that's a positive?

Naww not really. F & H was just convenient because it was right around the corner at the time. I'd make it in around 1-2 times a week for an hour or so.
