My question is, is the $6.61 for JUST ESPN(1) or is it for ALL the ESPN channels?

I like Cox Cable. It is easy. It is high quality. It has better guides and technology. It is all in one place and really not that much more expensive than when I researched cutting the cord. Any savings would be lost on time trying to switch from boxes to antennaes and also the lacking quality.

I don't know about Cox but AT&T U-Verse was ripping my mouth out to give me 400 channels, of which 80% were shopping networks and music.

Cutting the cord was a relief.

Seriously?

Seriously. I get tons of channels and I only pay like $135 per month. I agreed to a two year contract to get that price. That also includes internet which you have to pay either way.

It is easy, great guide, all in one place, HD on nearly all channels, etc...

I would not be bothered one bit if it went away.

I completely see sports and really just anything that can be televised to become all internet based anyway.

You go on the website and click what you want to watch.

That's kinda what I thought. I've heard posters saying people are crazy to pay Cox all that money every month, but until there is something as good and easy for a lot less money, I'll just stick with Cox.

I have no problem with cord cutters. I think my biggest problem with them is they have that Cross Fit/Healing Place Church mentality. Always shoving it in my face. Telling me how smart they are, etc...

I read some cord cutting stuff and it seems like a lot of work, not to mention almost everybody is cheating some way with another's password. And unless you're saving $100+ a month, it doesn't seem worth the hassle

Not really. Get roku, Amazon fire stick, or Apple tv. Plug it in. Download the channels you want and pay for them.

I thought most cable packages were less than $100 a month. But sling tv is $20-25, hbo $9-10, Netflix $8-9, hulu $8-10. So I'll go the high end and say you'll have everything you want to watch for $55.

This is like the 17th time Clay Travis has published this article. He changes a few words here and there and updates the costs per channel but it is the same old thing. Not that I disagree with it, but must be a slow news day in the world of sports.

The guy clearly has some sort of ax to grind.

Lol what? Cox's guide/interface hasn't changed in over a decade. It is horrible.

I can understand that, and am sure I've inadvertently been guilty of that too. I think it's because the quicker people cut the cord, the quicker they'll offer better, cheaper options. So there's probably some subconscious greed there.

I just know that I find much more enjoyable programming for at least half the cost. It's immediate, and I watch less commercials.

So, you're telling me I can get the same sports news as ESPN for 85% cheaper? Where do I sign up?!
Try watching FS1 for a couple of days. It'll make you really appreciate ESPN.

So take out $40 for internet, and it's $95. What options does that come with? Dvr, hbo, Showtime, etc?

That is the myth. Great content will always cost money. See how much the HBO app costs. Look at how much Netflix costs and it doesn't provide an amazing lineup. It is good no doubt but it isn't prime top to bottom.

except ESPN, ESPN2, etc

and you have to pay for cable internet, which will add another $60 or so to get quality speed and the GB/month to handle all that streaming

Thats ridiculous, of course you would. Think about how often you'd get to watch LSU sports on television if that were to happen.

Then we would have to actually go to the games? yuck

Then you have not had Cox in quite some time. It is vastly different and beats Apple TV and Antennae and Netflix many other products with literally no guide to surf from and switch around to. It is all in one place.
