frick that noise. Thankfully Alabama Power has better sense than to tell its customers what they need to do, at least as far as I know. And as for my thermostat, I think it was something like 6-7 years ago we installed digital thermostats. When we did, I set both the down and upstairs to 70 degrees. Neither has been changed since, nor will they be as long as I’m on this side of the dirt.

What a huge waste of money.

Mine is at 68 right now. I'll pay the premium gladly.

I pity your poor family if you consider living comfortably a “waste of money.” You must be a miserly shite stain if you’re unwilling to spend a few extra dollars a month so your family can stay comfortable during the summer. That or you’re just unable to support your family in a manner that allows them to be comfortable, which means as a man you’re useless and and abject failure. Hopefully your wife can find a real man who will provide for her and her children.

Holler at me when you get that bankroll up.

Isn't it amazing how our parents, grandparents and great parents would see how fat, soft and giant poon-nannies we are. 78? With air conditioning? People have gotten so weak.
Yeah frick all that noise. I crawl in crawlspaces inspecting foundation issues all day, some as low as 12", pushing away snakes and spiders, fighting mold and mud. I'm plenty hardened. Cold AC when I get home is non negotiable.
And before anyone asks, I'm not complaining, I get compensated very well for my job, just stating these people that ask us to endure discomfort probably haven't really ever experienced it.

The fact you think keeping the thermostats in a two story brick house set to 70 degrees in north Alabama would somehow make any appreciable impact on a “bankroll” tells me all I need to know about your situation.

I honestly feel sorry for the people on here that are forced into using Entergy for electricity because that’s the only option. Washington Parish is mostly WST, except for a little bit of Cleco around Mt. Hermon and Entergy in Bogalusa and the Pine area. 20 miles gets you $120 for electricity VS $300.

So I drop it to 70, that's 48 bucks a month on a $200 utility bill for me to be comfortable every day for a few months as opposed to having swamp arse?
I'll pay the bill thanks.
And frick off for trying to tell me where to set my thermostat.

frick that. Our house is set to 68 at night.

73 at night, 75 during day in bedrooms. 76 during day i rest of house.

At my old house, I used to keep it at 72. In my new house, 72 feels freezing and 76 feels comfortable like 72 did in the old house. The new house is more efficient, maybe?

And I recommend that Entergy lower their rates immdiately!

This is what I normally keep mine on already. Ceiling fans help to keep it cool. But I turn the thermostat down at night to 74 when I go to bed.
