quote:

Thank you for not killing her. People hate these spiders, but they're very peaceful and docile creatures. They just want to be left to do their thing," Avenir Maxwell commented.

quote:

"All creatures deserve respect and kindness! So happy that Charlotte is able to live safely and peacefully at your sanctuary," Danielle Helfrick wrote.

quote:

"She was a beautiful, calm spider, not aggressive in any way and like most spiders she just wanted to go about her business eating bugs and living in peace," it posted.. "She didn't or doesn't need to be killed! Poor spiders are so misunderstood!"

quote:

While the average Huntsman spider is only about 1 inch long with a 5 inch leg span, the largest one ever recorded had a leg span of around 12 inches - roughly the size of a dinner plate. The farm did not take measurements of Charlotte, but many think she could be the new world record holder.

She looks like a great pet, im glad they rescued her. Serious question, you see that in your backyard, you cant step on it, you cant shoot it, wtf do you do???

Huntsman spiders are harmless...never saw one nearly that big, though. If we found one in the house we would catch it in a jar and release it outside. Good for eating skeeters and sometimes, other spiders. They could still scare the hell out of you if they ran out from under something. It was the Sydney funnel web and the redbacks that we had to look out for. I didn't like the roaches, either. I saw some twice the size of ours and the bastards liked to fly.

How do they know it's a her I wonder?

ETA: How lucky is the spider to come across it's future owner - an owner who would buy and wear that shirt is the perfect spider owner, I think.

I'm so ignorant when it comes to spider anatomy. I guess I just never think to look under the skirt.

It's my fault for clicking your thread but frick you and frick that spider. I am going to think that mother frick is going to crawl from underneath everything and be on my face when I sleep. If I sleep tonight. What if my babies need me and I'm too delirious from lack of sleep? That's on you bro that's on you.

I rarely ever kill spiders, unless they look like black widows or brown recluses.

Garden spiders I have relocated. Though I have blown many spiders apart with BB guns as a bad youth,

The same thing I did when I came home to a garter snake by my front door the other day. I would wait for it to run away then go about my business.
