To pay homage to the OT I will waste my 10,000th by being selfless:

Mine cost me a lot more than that in the form of a divorce lawyer.

Yeah I say if she has the money for it and she knows he would like it...go for it.

OP...you are over thinking this

My husband has two bands...the one he wears everyday cost like $40. Other one was his grandfather's wedding ring. He wore that our wedding day and wears it when we will be around his mom.

I think that is a great idea..

On top of spending an outrageously overpriced amount on an engagement ring make your future wife spend your money on something dumb and unnecessary.

I think mine was $250 (some tungsten/cobalt/titanium type metal). Wish I would have just gotten gold (a bit more expensive). They all scratch eventually, but you can polish it out of gold. Plus it can be resized easily. My ring is a bit too big in certain temperatures..

We decided to exchange wedding gifts because we were lucky enough to not come out of pocket at all for the wedding (if we hadn't, I would have likely vetoed the wedding gifts idea).

We didn't look at it in any sort of a tit for tat or compare value in any way, especially not to her diamond.

Instead of additional jewelry (outside of wedding bands), our criteria was to pick out something that we "wanted" but would never buy for ourselves or even ask for as a bday or Christmas gift. I got her a nice purse and she got me a pair of dress boots.

There was some confusion about groom being read as groomsmen due to the fact that grooms gift aren't common, the part that got me was that I though the OP was a guy for at least two pages.

my real one was like $300 or something, but it is too big and is a material that cannot be resized (tungsten I think)

so I bought this cheap one and I haven't become fat enough to for the other one to fit me yet

people don't care to know the facts before giving an opinion.

in fact, the facts just get in the way of everything.

Anyone have the QALO silicone wedding rings?

LINK

Just curious how comfortable they are. I never wear my wedding set to gym or hiking or most times I'm doing outdoorsy stuff cause I don't want to damage ring and knock stones out of it and because it's not comfortable doing all that stuff with a ring on sometimes.

my wife wants to buy me one of those after I told her that I take my band off at the gym

apparently she thinks there are a bunch of hot chicks that will hit on me at 4:30 am

I did the same thing. I bought like 3 rings off of Amazon that were made of silver I think. They'd get all gouged and scratched from messing around in the shed or the woods. I'd take the dremmel tool to it to polish it up . I ended up throwing my original back on a few years later and it fit well enough, so I started wearing it again.

Just get your ring tattooed on your finger. Problem solved.

As a guy that just got married a couple weeks ago, just take however much you think you should spend on a watch to make up the difference, and commit yourself to blowing him until that fee would be paid off at $10-$20 per bj (depending on your talent level). He'd appreciate that far more than any trinket money could buy.
