Trump's wall should be built, and include a California-sized detour on the Western end

I mean we laugh, but that’s exactly what they want and are proposing. Biden wants $15 billion to install 500,000 electric car charging stations nationwide, meanwhile that $15 billion could repave every highway in this country and fix every shite bridge.

but this proposed bill and Abstract Moron’s underlying push to centralize all services nationwide has nothing to do with fixing. resolving, or improving infrastructure does it?

Has nothing to do with centralizing. Should we just piece out each state's military. This is America not confederation of loosely affiliated states. Things like infrastructure that are of vital importance to national should be front and center and not political. Instead we have every state making their own policy and those reps from those states are in the back pocket of some lobbyist so we end up with crap. It's time to mobilize.

Infrastructure isn't spending it is investing in the future of America.

That won't even touch the problem. With the last extensive study done in 2018, over 54,000 bridges across the country were deemed "structurally deficient".

Stuff like that is why I laugh at these infrastructure bills that include new, unnecessary infrastructure development that will cost untold billions of dollars, ie commuter railways in areas where commuter railways make no sense. "Sure our roads are turning into sinkholes and our bridges are falling down, but did you see the shiny new train?"

jenn, for the record: what approved news sources would you recommend us listen to?

There isn't one when it comes to negative California news. I've never once seen a negative story about that state that Jenn didn't call bullshite on.

They've thumbed their nose at Utah/Wyoming coal for a while now, costing hundreds/thousands of jobs here.

ETA: Californians are moving here in droves...

But that is pretty much what you are asking for.

But it is very political.

For example, you have CA who is banning every form of power out thete, including nuclear, that isn’t some form of renewable, like wind or solar. The you have a multitude of other states that use NG, nuclear, etc.

Which state’s policy will you implement from a national level? If you went down that path right now, the country would be forced into CA’s system, which is clearly flawed.

Centralization is a one size fits all model, which is clearly not the appropriate way to go.

That's just dumb.

You realize everyone has different visions of infrastructure, right? Of course it's political and should be.

here we go again, i just addressed this. “Infrastructure” is suddenly Democrats #1 priority, almost overnight. It’s a crisis. Time to move. Mobilize. It can’t wait any longer. No ulterior notices whatsoever, we promise. Do you copy and paste your talking points from MSNbC?

Then they’ll pass a ‘bipartison’ bill of which less than 10% of the spending will be directed towards actual infrastructure.

More studies need to be done. We have AI computing just plug all the scenarios in kinda like those astrophysicists studying black holes and microparticles and quarks.

I'm just venting it is just one of the many things that piss me off and have since I've been able to vote 20 or so years ago.
We rebuild infrastructure in the middle east after we blow it up versus fixing our own. Infuriating.

“guys, i’m being transparent and putting my thoughts/feelings on the line here. take me seriously, i’m one of the good ol baws.”

You’d make a great politician baw.

okay fine, but centralizing the amount of infrastructure you are suggesting is still a fricking terrible idea.

The only way nuclear is feasible is via federal govt subsidizing it heavily.

Well, they are talking about COVID like climate lockdowns nationwide. Look it up.

Remember how Texas controlled thermostats a few weeks ago? They want that and more nationwide.

This is a fair point and I agree with you, but I’ve long been an advocate for letting it collapse. We flew past the point of no return a long time ago and the lazy, entitled, and poorly educated American, needs a little taste of how the rest of the world lives if we ever expect to get on the right track again.
