End of white male doctors

I really thought that was BS, but a friend of mine has a daughter that was trying to get into an Alabama medical school. She had almost perfect 4.0 in a difficult double major at Baylor , an outstanding MCAT was on a sports team and basically worked her arse off. (Her parents told her to work her arse off play later. )
Her problem, she was white with two doctor parents. So despite all this she was not admitted and actually ask what difficulties she had overcome in life, and did she understand the term “white privilege” in her interview. So even though her MCAT, grads, etc were significantly above the average for this years class she was even wait listed. Apparently the only thing worse is a white male.
I confirmed this story with a bunch of doctors etc who says it is common now.
Her sin was obviously being born the wrong color to hard working over achieving parents.
I am all for diversity, but wtf?

Did she only apply to one school? Need to apply to 10+ schools even if she felt very qualified.

pretty common nowadays. Every year our local med school asks me to be on the interview committee and I decline because of the metric they use for getting in.
Black Female > Black Male > Hispanic Female > hispanic male> asian and whites

Not sure what the deal is but I know several people that didn't get in on the first time even tho they smoked the MCAT. Basically they worked at a hospital as a receptionist for a year and then reapplied and got in.
The AMA is trash. I have heard more people are going the D.O. route because stupid shite like this.
