By Royal Decree:

quote:

Cantrell: The businesses that we were able to open in Phase 1, at 25% can now move toward 50% capacity, with social distancing and masks. Restaurants, bars with food, gyms, barbers, beauty salons, spas.

Notice bars without food don't seem to be mentioned like the rest of the state...

Edit: Bars will be allowed.

quote:

Bars without a food permit will be allowed for the first time at 25% in Phase 2.

quote:

Cantrell: We have not seen an increase (in cases). We have been on a steady decline in the city of New Orleans since we did peak. We have declined over 96% and we remain very steady in terms of new cases. 2% of our tests are coming back positive. That's a good sign.

quote:

Cantrell: Gaming establishments (casino, fairgrounds, video poker) will be allowed to operate as 25% capacity. They had been closed since mid-March.

quote:

Cantrell: Houses of worship and movie theaters, will move from 25% to 50% capacity, or 250 people, whichever is the least.

quote:

Cantrell: Gatherings such as weddings, funerals, or other events will be ALLOWED, but limited to 100 people in Phase 2. With one crowd control officer per 50 people. This is the first time that thes gatherings have been allowed since mid-March. (Protests have been allowed)

Can't some of these places just buy a microwave and have a bunch of shitty stuff to pop in to get around that?

What will be magically different then, versus just allowing it to go in effect immediately?

She's done this every time. While the rest of the state goes into affect on a Friday, she goes in a week later, on a Saturday.

It makes no sense whatsoever.

Nothing. Just like there would have been no difference if it started a week ago.

Has anyone ever asked her to articulate and actual REASON, though? Is it all just pure 'I'm not gonna be bullied!' spite?

No, because she doesn't go on stations or do pressers that would ask her such questions.

During phase 1 one of the bars around here opened and made everyone who opened a tab also buy a $1 bread and cheese plate

The problem was they basically had to operate like a restaurant.

Should be more manageable in Phase 2.

I’m sure lots of places are going to push the issue and such. If they aren’t in her bad sad or that of a local community activist I bet things will be ok
