Looks like his post was canned, but I found Klark's quote, which equally did not age well.

My kids HS has two cops, plus private off duty and is locked down....have to buzz in...prior private school gated and same thing with private security- don't think this would be possible

Doors get propped open to bring stuff inside or outside, but so many extra people at times that it’s just easier to let people in and assume they are supposed to be there. Visitors going through main door only stops during these times (especially field days or at end of other awards or similar activities), and multiple doors in use a lot
not at any school I’ve ever sent my kids to. Yesterday I got up and left after my kid got his awards and one lady followed me to the front entrance of the school to make sure the door closed all of the way when I left. You can’t just walk in a school here at any time.

I don't agree. And what's more, it's probably not needed.

That said, it's not a massive leap from "The FBI prioritizes persecution of non-violent Jan 6 grandmas and investigating non-existent nooses over known terror/mass shooting threats who dropped off our radar" to "The FBI conveniently ignored a quickly declining unstable person for long enough at just the moment useful to people with a certain agenda."

Time for the gun nuts to admit they view this as an acceptable trade off to their preference to have guns given out like candy. Just be honest, this is a trade-off to a modern society with free-for-all firearms and you are fine with it.

Well, less than two years ago you guys let violent criminals take over our cities, burn businesses and homes, kill and assault people and refused to prosecute them while getting rid of the police.

So good luck asking people to turn over their guns. You already showed them your playbook.

we've seen a lot of schools opting for bullet-resistant glass and blast doors in their lobbies

I agree, they are moving that way for lobbies, but looking at a picture of that school, you could see like 20+ classroom windows. Schools can't afford bullet proof glass on every window. He didnt even have to go to a door. He could smash through a outside window of a classroom and wreck havoc before the lockdown is announced over the PA.

We had a lockdown at my kids elementary school last year and earlier this year. Both were for burglary suspects at local gas stations over 5 miles away. While I live in a top area of Atlanta suburbs, I still had a small nervous feeling in my stomach for the 90 mins the school was on HARD lockdown and the other 30 mins of SOFT lockdown

This one is extra fricked up. He was running from the cops, crashed into a ditch, ran in the school, and started shooting. FFS

Not sure what latest news is or how close initial shooting & start of chase were to elementary school, but locally even when it ended up being nothing the cops & district were good about putting a school on lockdown if something was happening close and also sending cops to those schools.

This was the type of situation they wanted to avoid - someone dangerous on the loose and running into a school to make a last stand.

i find it amazing that there is a segment of posters that appear out of nowhere in some specific threads, otherwise never post on the OT.

Yes exactly. It is worth it. I care more about my rights than I do a couple dozen kids in Uvalde. Sorry not sorry.

It’s just kinda weird how this happens during a democratic President.

-sandy hook
-las Vegas massacre
-todays shooting

I hope there isn’t some great conspiracy to it, and many prayers to all the families. What a sad day.

I know it was. I acknowledged that it was a quoted post from someone who's post had been canned.

You fricking people don't read anything.
