Working nights this week and woke and turned the Weather Channel on and saw where they have confirmed an EF3 tornado hit Ruston .... BOOM about that time I got an alert of a tornado warning for Ascension, Assumption and St James....damn.

Lots of damage on campus, softball/baseball fields got hit pretty bad. Pretty bad. Amazing more weren't hurt.

NOLA EF3
Heaven forbid the earrings and ponytail holders get blown off the heads of 60 year old men while the women get their feathers and stretch pants scattered all over the yard.

the AD already said soccer won't be ready for next season and baseball & softball may not be either

If that was an EF3, I'm surprised those campus apartments by the baseball stadium didn't sustain more damage. State project going to the lowest bid and quickly constructed, I wouldn't have imagined those were the sturdiest quality construction.

When EF3 damage is found in Ruston, the Ruston tornado will officially be rated an EF3. That doesn’t mean that the tornado produced EF3 winds throughout its entire lifecycle though. It may have been an EF1 for example when it passed over the dorms. Thoughts are with Ruston today though...I was born there and lived there until I was 12 so I have special childhood memories there.

It was actually:

It was valid until 7 am this morning.

Still, a 2% isn't expected to yield an EF3 with a potentially very long track.

It started basically in the heart of the 5% area and just continued tracking to the NE.

Right, but that 2% area was because the atmosphere there was expected to be less conducive. The thing just got clean inflow and there was enough shear there.

season and baseball & softball may not be either

Softball plays at home against Western Ky this weekend, where will they play, Ruston High?

Baseball on the road until May 10.

Wonder what they do the rest of the season
