Edmunds tests the new Ford Ranger

...and compares it to the Toyota Tacoma and Chevrolet Colorado.

Apparently it's a POS. Get a Tacoma or Colorado instead.

Removing the airdam is annoying, but once we did we found good suspension articulation and a willing traction control system. This truck is the one to get for a balanced mix of on-road civility and off-highway capability.

It's a good looking midsize truck. But something about a midsize Ford screams "RUNAWAY!" to me.
Also, I think Ford finds a way to botch the new Bronco coming out in a few years.

They made it look like their old ranger sportrac to much. Ummmmmm that style/look retired the ranger yrs ago, so why bring it back?? People who are in that market want a mini-version of the bigger truck. Not that hard

I absolutely have no faith that they do well with the new bronco. The bronco faithful want an ode to the early bronco but ford seems he’ll bent on going bigger to sell to another market. I think they will end up with something that looks tonka toyish and plastic with this same shite ride.

Hmm, all the early independent reviews I watched were very positive. Granted, most of them were just by regular joe's with a youtube channel.
I like the size, and looks of them. But, the price is kind of stupid. I was hoping for a cheaper, smaller F150. I'll just stick with my '05 F150 until it completely craps out beyond repair.

I am so freaking sick of the word "dated."
How in the flip-flying-frick can a truck seat be "dated?" This reinventing the wheel every other arbitrary period of time or it's "dated" is so ate-up with the dumb-arse.
This does not look like a Ranger, to me, either. It seems to take too many design cues from its competition. Of course Ford thinks that if it works for Toyota and Chevy it will work for Ford and pinch off buyers. The Ranger design was solid before they ditched it in 2011.

2nd that.You Tube reviews are all good verses the taco as very capable off road. I suggest anyone in the market not just rely on Emonds.

Sorry, but that truck looks pretty good to me.
Front end looks better than the Colorado, and the rest of the truck looks just like a Colorado.
