I enjoyed it. Everything around had a weird look to it...it kind of reminded me of how it looked when we had bad brush fires close to where I used to live, and there was a ton of smoke in the sky. It didn't look darker, just...different.

You have to be in the totality to really enjoy it. It's incredible how in the short span of a few minutes that it essentially goes to nighttime darkness and then back to daylight again.

You get that eerie feeling like just before a tornado or major storm is coming, the crickets and frogs will come out chirping, and then it goes into nighttime.

I was underwhelmed. I thought 75% coverage would have been much closer to darkness. It was a couple of hues less bright, and a few shadows.

On the plus side... I got to go several hours without hearing about statues or Kapernick.

In Colombia Mo, we had 100% eclipse here. The difference between 99% eclipse and totality is huge. Things really didn't get interesting until the totality, but the 2 minutes of total eclipse were pretty cool.

Two of my sisters ended up in Madisonville at a vineyard. They said it was beautiful. They invited me to go but having seen one previously I just wasn't excited enough to drive all that far.

And don't want to admit they wasted a bunch of time and money.

The eclipse at One Shell Square was a great coming together of humanity.

I didn't have glasses, but a black lady shared hers with me. Just hundreds of people of all colors, creeds and bra sizes sharing a celestial miracle. No violence, no hate. We need more of this.

There is hope for this world, you people.

We had 2:25 of totality in Columbia, SC. Can honestly say it was the coolest thing I have ever seen.

Not to knock anyone else's experience, but I read that the difference between a partial eclipse and totality is flying in a plane, to jumping out of one.

It was an indescribable experience.

I definitely agree. This was my first time experiencing it and it was mind blowing really. When it got light again you could hear roosters crow it throws everything off in a very unique way. Also looked like twilight over the mountains and also towards the plateau on the other side of us which was something i know i will never see again.

The next one will be 04/08/2024. Supposedly, totality will exist in Houston. My daughter will be 15 by then.
If all goes as planned she will have an interest in science and will want to attend the event.

I would have been pissed at that. That destroys listening for what the birds and insects are doing during it.

This was the coolest thing I got out of it. Light during peak of eclipse as it was filtered through trees produced multipled eclipse images on pavement.
