doesn't EBR collect with trucks that have mini-cranes on them? I know I cut down a tree and put it to the curb in Mid City BR and I called Allied Waste and the next pick up day they sent this truck that had an open bin and small user operated crane on it.

Today (Thurs) was supposed to be my day for yard waste pickup. That's two missed pickup dates since the Monday 4/27 storm.

It's been a week and street after street still has tree branches at the curb. I don't think they have enough crews working on it.

They usually pick up curbside items too big for the garbage cans on Saturday where I live. I put some things out by the road last Friday night and they were still there Saturday at dark. I figured they were behind because of the storm last week so I just brought the stuff back inside.

70810 mine was picked up last Thursday, 5-7. They only missed by one week. Not bad for all the crap they had to pick up.

Not a truck in sight today. Can't wait for the City of St. George. Maybe I'll get some service around here.

There were 3 trucks on Stanford at 7:30am on a Sunday...so it's pretty clear they are working.

I'm not so sure what your issue is here, though...on a given week my street may have one house that has debris that needs to be collected by the crane/claw trucks. Currently there's about 20.

If your company experienced a 2000% increase, I'd say you wouldn't have the resources on hand to accommodate.

The metro council waited too long to activate their debris removal contract.

The storm happened on the 27th. The next meeting was May 13th.

The debris removal contract was signed on May 12th. So which is it?

As it's been discussed here, the initial debris reports were small...then by the next week they went up and a contract was signed and began work in a week. That's not terrible.

Why are you defending them? They waited too long to activate the debris removal contract. With no pickup today my next scheduled pickup is the 25th which is 1 month since the storm and there is no guarantee my debris will be removed on that date either. This is an example of piss poor leadership from the mayor's office and the metro council.

Because I've explained to you why that happened, but you seem to not understand.

They are still picking up loose trash on the weekly date, I've had something picked up each week. Storm debris is clearly on a separate timeline as I told you I passed three trucks working at 7:30 on a Sunday morning.

Meh. The MC didn't have anything to do with this, and they seem to have gotten the situation under control. If you need the debris removed from your curb you can always bring it to the landfill yourself.
