This should fall under an emergency or storm clean up.
Unfortunately, it is not covered under Republic Waste as it goes back to the Allied Waste contract. Yes, I read all the contracts.
Problem is this should go to whoever wins or has won emergency or storm clean up.

Also, I couldn’t imagine living in the shithole city and parish that EBR is.
You dumb. You do realize that not all of BR is a shathole right? Maybe you are just ignorant and don't know the city. Come to Central and I will show you some good parts of EBR.

I remember during the 2016 flood, my sister in law flooded and it wasn't republic that picked up the debris...Some other company with a massive arse truck and claw picked it up...I happened to be there helping out and saw it. I used to live in br and i know the horrible blue trucks that are republic...they're terrible in general

Have to save room in that can for actual garbage, considering it’s very rare that our can gets picked up twice in a given week—much less on the assigned day.

Republic is a horrible company....
All of their trucks leak hydraulic fluid everywhere and they NEVER are on schedule.....
Thanks SWB!

quote:It's EBR. I get all yard waste, trash and recycle picked up every single week here in Lafayette. The last two are picked up before sunrise and I usually have to bring the cans up the driveway to leave for work.
Every once in awhile, my wife and I like to test our luck on a Thursday to see if we can accomplish the miracle of the holy trinity where we get Recycle, garbage, and trash all picked up on their scheduled service day. It's happened once.

2016 debris had to be put into special separated landfills.

Used to be like this in BR. I put everything on the curb, it was gone within a week. Where I'm at in TN you individually get your own trash and recycling service, it's stupid. Every day is trash day - great way to ruin neighborhood roads faster.

I bet St. George would pick it up.
Lol
They can’t even get their shite together to become a city, you think they would pick up the debris?

These bozos were playing this game with me the last set of high winds and "flooding" we had 5 weeks or so ago.
I had a pile of woody waste (an old fence that blew down and a small tree I took down) on my curb for one month.
I made a 311 request every week and every time it was closed out the same day with a message "due to the flooding and landfill closures your woody waste will be picked up on your next service date. We place the safety of our crews above all and appreciate your patience."
This went on for 3 weeks, and yes I made 3 missed pickup requests.
How our city government can screw up something as simple as picking up the trash is a testament to the ineptitude of government in general.

Republic has nothing to do with disaster debris removal. It’s a corporate policy, they and Waste Management got out of that game after Katrina. To complicate and time consuming to deal with FEMA reimbursements. They would rather enforce their force majeure clauses in their contracts with municipalities and tell them that if it looks like storm debris it’s out of the scope of the contract.
EBR uses a company called DRC they have the emergency debris removal contract. They were used during the ice storm in Feb., as well as after all the storms last year. Republic (countrywide) doesn’t even own the equipment to do a major debris removal operation.
All this comes down too is Parish is waiting to see if FEMA will pick up the tab or if they will have pay for it.

You are right they suck, but if it's not in their contract then they have the right to refuse to pick it up.

Leave it at the curb. They’ll pick it up eventually. Especially if everyone in the neighborhood just refuses to haul it off.

Ever since Republic said that they had switched to women drivers I realized why Republic's trucks kept leaving ruts on the edge of the yard
Posted on 5/21/21 at 11:23 pm to Indefatigable
Same here. Not exaggerating, they pick up garbage cans on my scheduled day of Tuesday, maybe 25% of the time, and it’s getting worse. Then my trash can sits at the street until Friday with now a overflowing can. Calling them does no good. Republic is horrible
