EBR Councilman Buddy Amoroso struck, killed while riding bicycle in St. Francisville

According to Louisiana State Police, Metro Councilman Amoroso was struck on LA Highway 66 near LA 61 around 11 a.m. Saturday. He sustained fatal injuries.

Sources say another bicyclist was also struck, and transported with serious injuries to a hospital in Baton Rouge via AirMed.

Hwy 66 there is a narrow, winding road with some hills. Riding a bicycle there seems very dangerous.

66 is probably one if the more dangerous roads up there for cycling... busy

I rode about 100 miles through one of the most densely populated cities imaginable last week ( metro Vancouver) . And I was safer than riding 1 mile in S Louisiana. This is the most bicycle- unfriendly place in America. You can have bikes or you can have truck nut baws, but you can’t have both.
