When you have a crash diet, the results is usually ending up worse than you started.

So it is following its normal course here.

Won't be long before Gravy comes bitching about racist street upgrades in South BR while nothing is done in North BR.

Why isn’t Nicholson from LSU to Lee ready to go?

I thought they were trying to get some state funding for this?

It IS a state highway. Which is why it's particularly neglected.

The plan essentially is, make horrible traffic worse for 3 years and still be inadequate when completed

Some of y'all would complain about anything.

Seriously the OT complains about traffic, then also complains about efforts to alleviate traffic or even invest in new infrastructure.

But is he wrong in his statement? BR has constantly been 20 years behind in improvements. They do 100 studies over 10 years and then secure funding for the next 5 and then build the next 5 years. When its completed its based on the statistics from 20 years ago, which is already inadequate.

Seems like no one in the state has ever heard of future planning.

The poor drainage issue should be taken care of first before any street gets widened. Most people's memories are much too short. Does any recall the Historic Flood of 2016 ?
It may happen again.

In Kip’s Greenlight Plan Nicholson was approved to be widened from LSU to Lee. It was rolled into the Broome plan.

It is a state Highway, but EBR had been paying to upgrade state highways here for a good while.

I think old GL projects that haven’t been completed should be done first, but it’s not happening that way.

Yet there are still no plans to widen Florida from Airline to the Amite or Airline from Florida up to 110. Perhaps if some giant of commerce were to buy up land there and open a fricking ginormous facility the obvious potentital for extra traffic would spur them into... oh, wait.

Funding to widen Airline from 110 to Florida were approved by the voters in the MovEBR plan.

Broome’s Stormwater plan began in 2017. We are still waiting to see it.

The traffic in Baton Rouge over the next 2-4 years, with these projects and the I-10 project, is going to be biblical.

Absolutely biblical.

Well they can't finish when they stop the project. They made Sullivan Rd 10x worse and is now a complete clusterfrick

Because we all know exactly how this will go. Notice most of these upgrades are just hearings which means it will likely be a few years before we even hear about them again.

Anyone with an ounce of foresight should have seen that surface streets needed to be addressed years ago before we cut I-10 down to two lanes for a few years.
