Easiest/Hardest State to do prison time in?

In your opinion, when talking about state prison, what state would be the hardest to do time in? Which state prison would be hell to have to serve a prison sentence? I may be biased because I live in Louisiana, but Angola has to be the worst one and you all know the reasons why. A close second would be the state prisons in California. The prisons in California are probably the most dangerous because of all the gangs that fill them up.
As far as the easiest state prisons, it’s gotta be the ones in the Northeast (Vermont, New Hampshire) or a state like Wyoming or Idaho. The Northeast because there are a lot of wealthy people and apparently very little crime, so if you were incarcerated up there, you probably wouldn’t have to worry much about bad conditions or dangerous inmates.
Wyoming and Idaho don’t have many people, so also low crime, same thing. Compare any of the aforementioned states to Angola or San Quentin, and you’ll see a vast difference.
What do you guys think?

Prisons in Texas don't even have AC in the summer. What do you think that's like? Guards don't get AC either.

A maximum security prison in the NE is still going to be filled with murderers and rapists and the worst people on the planet.

Just on reputation:
Attica, Sing Sing, Folsom, Angola, Pelican Bay and Rikers Island are probably the worst/most dangerous. Holman (sp?) has one of the worst physical plants by reputation.
I imagine the best prisons are federal. Outside of that I have no idea since you generally don't hear much about the 5 star prisons.

quote:I saw a documentary about a Northeast prison and it didn't look so bad. All but a few of the inmates got along and one of them could get you some decent contraband. Meal times looked pretty social when everyone would gather around and talk about fellas from the past. And if you got the right work detail you could arrange it so your tier mates could get a beer or two after doing a few days of roof work. They had GED classes and one guy even kept a pet crow he named Jake. Looked a lot better than Angola or San Quentin.

I thought they were only a holding facility, not the end of the road prison.

Prison would be relatively easy for you

Texas is no walk in the park for black inmates. The white gangs and the Hispanic gangs there ally something fierce in that penal system.

Do some federal pens have golf courses where they send the ex politicians to?

Doing time ain’t nothing. You only do two days in jail: the day you go in & the day you get out.

Terrible...not that there's danger from other inmates. It's the danger of losing hope, losing your mind and killing yourself.
