The thread on Coronary Calcium Scan got me to thinking about another indicator of possible coronary artery disease. It is not definitive proof of CAD but a diagonal crease in ear lobes (Franks sign) is suggestive and is worth exploring with cardiologist.

I had never heard that before, so thanks for passing that along.

Now I wanna know how many posters read this and went and looked at their earlobes?

So, I just went to the bathroom mirror to check, and I am happy to report that I do not have the crease. I did, however, discover that a single black hair growing out of my earlobe right where the crease would be. It's thick and around 3/4" long. I'm sure that means I'm about to die. *shrug*

I remember hearing the corellation when I was a kid so getting closer to 50 I was stunned recently to see a crease in my ear. Then oddly nothing on the other.

Some experts think it's bs and I think it's just age and shite happens when you're old.

I can see how these are common with those who have heart disease, due to heart disease being so common. Could be a coincidence.

That being said, I have them and have had high cholesterol my entire life.

That you make GREAT decisions and would never follow a stupid trend just to "make a statement".

It is a fact that a large percentage of heart attack victims ate lettuce at least once during the previous 12 months...

Exactly, I hate how they find one commonality and figure that’s the link.

Doesn’t it just means that you’ve let your face get too fat, hence you are overweight, hence you probably do have an eating problem in your arteries are full of cholesterol.
