Generally the one paying child support gets to claim them. Or at least I did.

I looked up the Georgia child support calculator out of curiosity.

If partner A makes 50,001 and partner B makes 50,000. Then partner A pays 1,000 a month in child support.

I thought this was bullshite.

Because now partner B makes $1,999 more per month than partner A.

Here is the link to the calculator if you also can’t believe it. I did it for 3 kids as that is how many I have.

we flip flopped years. And I doubt the OP is on the hook for alimony, just child support.

And you want someone receiving child support to handle the bills. Who the frick wants to be settling up daily for the expenses. Give her the check and move on

Nope. I make more. She's wanting alimony

Tell her good luck. Unless….. she has documented proof that you cheated and she doesn’t have any income.

I paid zero for alimony. They took our incomes and figured what % (ex: H makes 70,000, W makes 30,000) each make and that’s what they are responsible for child support. Split everything else down the middle and went our own ways.

Get a good lawyer….

A+ advice. If they want to talk about divorce stuff, tell them to call your lawyer.

Oh, we've had 3 depositions already. My attorney definitely knows me. I own 16% of a business before I married her. Her attorney is coming after that. We have been married 11 years. I make roughly 80k. She makes 62k. We live in Alabama. My attorney assures me I have nothing to worry about regarding my business I owned before I married her...

This! 100%

In my experience same thing applies when it comes to custody, child support and etc. I’ve seen some messed up situations

She’s not gonna get what she thinks she will. Even with child support. Assuming assets are split evenly, salaries are similar, and custody is 50/50 she might get a few hundred a month.
I guess she seems to think she’s gonna wreck you and quit her job lol

Has she had a job since you two had been married or where you the only source of income for the family?
