My MIL started going off on us for letting her jump on a trampoline without proper safety. "She's going to get hurt. I can't believe y'all would do this." Both my wife and I blew her off. Well that offended her. So she stood right at the edge of the trampoline and held her hands out for my daughter to jump to her.
My daughter jumped, my MIL pulled away and my daughter hit the ground. I saw it, my wife didn't. We are focused on the blood gushing from my daughters face and my MIL says "See, I told you so." I let her have it. We ended up in the ER getting stitches over this. That was 8 years ago and I'm still pissed about it.
Winner.

I love my MIL but she does some silly things and I wouldn't call them "dumb"
When we moved into our house almost 14 years ago we hired movers and at one point the movers just disappear. I asked my wife if she had seen the movers and she said no.
I finally see them and my MIL has them hemmed up talking to them about where they went to church and inviting them to her church. She'd had them cornered for about 30 min. I asked my wife if she would go get her mom so the 180.00 per hour could get back to work.
She really didn't know any different so it was no harm no foul. Just funny.

Love my MIL. She is a saint. May God let her rest in peace. But really, never ever got into our biz.
Would only say about a hundred prays if needed.

I got lucky I guess. I love my FIL & MIL.
My FIL is the salt of the earth and a great man.
I married late in life and didn't expect to have to ask for his blessing until my SIL and her husband told me I better ask. I remember going to ask him and he gave me his blessing and asked me how I was going to ask her.
I told him what I was going to do and he laughed(he is old school) he said, son, go to her apartment right now and ask her.
She was in a bath robe and rollers, she has never let me live that down. I always tell her to blame her daddy.

My ex MIL would watch my son sometimes. When I’d go pick him up she’d have a robe on and would occasionally pull a Sharon Stone....not what you’d want from a MIL.

If she is a hot mother in law then it is exactly what I would want

Despite numerous efforts on my part to explain what I thought was a rather simple concept I could NOT get her to understand why Auburn went to the SECCG last year and not Bama
Yes she’s a gump

Set the stage for the future by stealing MIL’s thunder.
Propose privately a week before the party, you’ll get to have better and more sex that week compared to publicly proposing. If you propose at the party your GF will immediately start stressing about wedding planning because people will be asking her questions. It won’t be that much fun for you.
Better yet, elope and announce your recent marriage at said party when everyone expects you to propose. That’ll teach MIL real good.

My mother died from alzheimers. She rapidly declined, She had a strict DNR order bcuz she knew the torment of Alz because my grandfather had it for years.
My now ex-mil told me 'what a shame your mom just gave up like that. She could have survived and recovered from it if she had just tried a little harder'.
What a total count! Nobody has ever 'recovered' from alzheimers. Stupid fricking bitch!!!

That's messed up! Yeah my wife would kill her mom if she did this, absolutely positive.

I hit the in law jackpot! My MIL is a freakin saint and my FIL is awesome as well. Couldn’t ask for a better family to marry into.

That's not even the worst story. She once used my wife's social security number (which she had from her growing up) and pretended she was my wife to gain access to our bank accounts.
Put it this way. My mother in law is straight Denham Springs trash that barely graduated high school. She was pretty enough to catch the attention of my FIL and he got her pregnant (with my wife). My FIL's family of origin are good people - and felt it was right for them to get married.
Its a strange, loveless marriage but my FIL is old school Catholic and doesn't believe in divorce. He checked out years ago.

MIL came over to our house unannounced (didn’t call and let us know) knocked on the door but both of us were busy at the time in the bedroom gettin’ it on, so what does MIL do? She walks straight in yelling out “is anyone home” and proceeds to walk around the house looking for my wife. My wife yelled out to stop her from coming into the bedroom.

We were having my wife's 30th birthday party at the house. It was a surprise party with about 30 friends over. MIL gets drunk and yells out " who invited the ni**er" wife then escorted her out and made her leave

Don’t know if it counts, but the dumbest shite my ex-MIL did was give birth to my ex-wife.
Which makes the dumbest shite I ever did pretty obvious.

hen my oldest was three, our neighbor gave us their outgrown "My First Trampoline." It didn't have the padding or the net, but she could jump on it. She loved it. One day grandma came over and of course my daughter wanted to show her that she could jump.
