Memphis doesn’t have bad neighborhoods. The whole city is bad,
I asked my buddy from Memphis what parts were iffy and he said that your best bet was to avoid the areas inside the city limits. From my experience it doesn’t have nice parts like most cities. There are areas that aren’t terrible but if you want to raise a family you probably should head to the suburbs.

I promise I could drive through Republican districts that look as bad or worse.
I didn’t have any interest in this discussion being political but this is a very very bold claim.

In Nola roads are built on some pretty shitty soil, especially in Lakeview since it used to basically be a swamp. Even some of the roads they re-did not long ago in that area are sinking and forming holes.

I’m not excusing the crappy city maintenance for not doing a good job

Jacksonville has areas that make East St.Louis and Venice Illinois look like dream lands.

You know you’re in a great place when the cashier is behind bulletproof glass.

Several years ago I did some work in Detroit, I was always in awe of a certain abandoned plant. It was covered with graffiti and had almost no more windows. For some reason, this one place struck me, I could visualize what it looked like when it was at it's prime, with all of the activity and people. If I remember it was on the corner of 75 and 94, it was a brick building and was right off of the highway, and had the name of the company but I can't remember the name. Saw a lot of Detroit, one of the managers took me on a tour of some of the more "real" Detroit. One of the only times where I saw entire neighborhoods fenced off so the city didn't have to spend money on services. It's was a shithole but you could see that at one time it was the booming.

That dude is crazy for driving through some of the areas that he does. No way I'm going through a dark alley in south central LA in the middle of the night.

The main drag is not bad. You need to take a few side streets to get a real read on the situation. It's sad.

That's why I am more concerned with getting a national recognition of all state licenses, instead of worrying about Constitutional open carry in your state.

Having grown up in Memphis, south of 240 and around the airport is as bad as it gets. Orange Mound is probably the most notorious of these areas. Nothing good happens around there.

Atlanta is a city of contrast...some of the nicest neighborhoods in the South are north of downtown, and anything south of I-20 to the airport looks like Somalia.

One time when I was about 12 or so my dad and I went up to St. Louis for a Cardinals game. I was about to piss my pants in the car so we were frantically looking for a gas station or something similar. My dad took a wrong turn and ended up crossing the Mississippi. Ultimately we pulled up behind a strip club where I connected with nature... as soon as I shook away the last drops I got back in my dad’s Audi A4 and he peeled out of there like he stole it.
