This thread is why I love the OT. I make good money and the only fancy ice chest I own is the one I won at a golf tournament.

I haven't seen her in years(last time I saw her she didn't have kids yet). She was a really good nurse when I worked with her. I was friends with her outside of work as well. I actually live closer to her now that she has moved. Next time I'm in Vegas I hope to meet up with her and her family. Just a really nice person.

That's an awful nihilistic approach to take on life and careers.

I guess my nursing career of caring for sick children makes me a shallow, greedy person. Heaven forbid I still decide to continue with my selfish, greedy career when I do ever become a mother(God willing).
What's so horrible about wanting to be parents...and productive contributing members of society?

It's not their opinion. That's what's so horrible about it.

Look at you making excuses for yourself. It's okay to be shallow and greedy just for the sake of it.

It doesn't make sense to stay home unless you just want to and can.
This depends on if you value extra money more than you value extra time spent with your children.

Uninformed statement. As a group they far outperform their schooled counterparts. Must I link?

No, we aren't going to read it anyway.
