Whirlpool Ultimate Care II, everything is working except it stop blowing heat. Is it something I can fix? Need a repairman? Or is it dead?

Change the flux capacitor. Also, wiggle the doohickey. You should be good to go.

This seems like a job for Napoleon. But, is your dryer gas or electric?

Make sure the silver exhaust tube is clear of lint and debris.

Could be thermal cut-off, but probably heating element.

And make sure the lint catcher is clean too. Should have started there. I had a buddy who was complaining that his dryer wasn't working. We went to take a look at it, and he never cleaned the lint catcher. It was like a fricking pillow.

Your heating element is probably out.

I've changed mine twice, they aren't difficult.

You can check continuity across the coil to see if it's broke.

I don't mean to demean the OP if this is the cause, but I'm always surprised at how many people just don't realize that you have to do basic stuff like this to keep your stuff running correctly.

Make sure the vent is clear. Somehow the cover on the outside of my house broke and a bird was building a damn nest in the exhaust.

Either your heating element or your thermal fuse. Both are common replacements on a dryer and fairly straight forward. There is almost certainly a YouTube DIY for diagnosing and changing the parts I mentioned. If you're handy at all, you can mange this.

My kids have been doing laundry since they were 10 and they still don’t clean the friggin’ trap.

I honestly think it’s going to take something like this after they have their own places before they actually start doing it.

HVAC tech recently showed me a picture of a unit where the owners had not changed the air filter in years. It was incredible to see how far and wide the dust and crap had built up.

My money is on thermal fuse. Easy to check with a multi-meter (and a lot cheaper to replace).

Not to mention it's a very real fire hazard to have all that lint built up in the filter and exhaust pipe leading outside.

Could be a few things.
Like the thermal fuse, thermal cut off, thermal overload, thermostat, heating element. If gas could be coils or igniter.

Could even be a fine dryer just a half bad two leg breaker.

Could be a lot of things.

And is not crushed or smashed.

See I hate generic answers. SOME heating elements are easy. Nine screws and one or two panels and voila. Some require the full tear down of the machine and the removal of everything except the motor.

Maybe dinner and drinks first would help.
