Derek Quebedeaux.
Is he really out of jail already?
Googled his name because I had to go to the same street where it happened and found a fb profile and a wedding registry for this dude.
When did he get out and how?

When you are related to a judge, that's what happens

Out on bail or is his case resolved and he’s out?

Derek L. Quebedeaux sniffled, his lip quivered and his eyes welled as he waited to speak to the judge who would punish him Tuesday for killing three young people and injuring two others while driving his truck drunk near Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond one night in 2009.
In March 2009, Southeastern Louisiana University students gather where three students were hit and killed by a drunken driver as they were walking on the side of the street.
"I wish I could take back that day," he told Tangipahoa Parish Judge M. Douglas Hughes in a wavering voice. "There's nothing I can say to make things right."
The 23-year-old turned his back to the judge. He tugged at his dark suit as he faced the teary-eyed parents, siblings, cousins and best friends of those he killed or maimed, and said, "I really am sorry."

He got 12 years 6 years ago. Being out by now sounds about right. Thanks JBE!

Didn't he try to get an early release a few years after he was convicted and the judge said no?

he was eligible for parole 4-6 years into his sentence. he was convicted in 2011 so Im not surprised.

Did he play baseball at Hammond High?

Looking at his fb page, it looks like the same guy to me.
There’s also several comments about being gone and needing to catch up with people.

This guy was so fricked up that the cops woke him up at his house after finding blood and a girl's shoe stuck in the front of the car

50% after "good behavior" credit is the norm. JBE early-released petty crime people like the dudes serving 2 yrs for possession. Find something else to to bitch about.

I figured it had to be. Hammond is too small of a town and Quebedeaux is not that common of a name.
Especially around here

I remember when that incident was chronicled on here. Damn time flies by fast.

I could be way wrong but isn’t the minimum for parole 65 percent of sentencing in Louisiana?

That has to be the hangover from hell.

Punk applied for early release after 2 years. Got denied thankfully.
That Target registry deserves the Kibbles treatment. Do work, OT.

Good time/parole varies depending on the crime and the criminals rap sheet. Vehicular homicide is now a crime of violence—it wasn’t in 2011–which carries 75% or 65% (I can’t remember since it keeps changing).
