It isn't a highway. It's called Old Hwy 171 and I think the posted speed limit is 40.

There are many here that think drinking and driving is ok as long as you just had a few but god forbid if you smoke a joint at home.

I figured I’d come here and see the stupid post. You have no clue. He wasn’t a good guy he was a great guy. Yes, he was a great father to 4 wonderful kids and a wife. He also served this country very proudly and was always willing to help anyone. It’s a damn shame what people can say behind a key board.

The overwhelming majority of posts in this thread appear to be condemning the driver. Sounds like you may have been close, and I’m so very sorry for your loss. I guess I just don’t see where this particular thread has upset you so. Seems we’re all on the same side.

I didn’t read the article so maybe it insinuates its a busy road. It’s not. It’s a residential neighborhood with a church and private school. Probably the only car that passed in a 60 minute period was this guy. I think the guy was taking back roads home but driving too fast.
I was good friends with the guy that was killed. I texted him yesterday morning bc I heard someone said to pray for his family. Never imagined this was why. He’s was great guy. One of those 110% fathers and 110% friends. Pray for his family. He will leave a huge void. His wife and kids just adored him.

Just found out this morning that I knew him from back at McNeese. I hadn't kept touch with him in years but I remember him being a really good guy. One of those that if you didn't like him, then you had issues, not him.

His obituary is up. Very hard to read. Lots of cars at his parents’ house the last several days. Haven’t been able to get this out of my head. Just awful.

This dude doesn’t look really heavy. If he drank 12 beers from 10 - 2, he’d probably still be at .16 at 5:30.
I can tell you I’ve damn sure drank that much, but rarely, if ever would be up at 5:30 and then only to walk to a deer stand.
