Pretty sure the point
he was talking about you proving my point. Which indicates I had directed the conversation and the argument into a corner in which you proved my point when you continued to argue.

Which is Texas has superior education from Pre- K to Grad degrees and we send the dumb ones to LA for college and then the SMART ones from LA move here after getting their educations because they were smart enough to figure out LA is a shite state and their graduates make shite arguments,

I will concede this point, I have met dumber people than you from LA

If you draw conclusions about a state based on driving straight through it on the interstate I have an observation for you: you're a moron.
Yeah. I've done the I-10 and I-20 drives several times and have spent time in Dallas, Houston, and Wichita Falls and I don't feel like I know anything about Texas. And there's absolutely no way to get a feel for the local culture anywhere just by driving the interstate and stopping for food and gas.

This is a seriously silly post. It obviously has brought out some deep seated tribal resentments. I agree with an earlier post suggesting Texans love their eastern brethren but maybe not so much in the other direction. I loved Texans when I was a kid.

I spent two and a half months in the El Paso area (Fabens and Tornillo at a Federal Border Crossing) and many of the locals there say they want New Mexico to annex El Paso. The whites love Texas, but the browns don’t There from what I gathered.

I'll take highways over interstate if I've got the time.

Houston's 'ethnic' centers, as you put it, clearly take dumps on what Louisiana has to offer in terms of ethnic foods.

Houston has great food but to say Louisiana doesn’t have good ethnic food is naive or disengenerous. Baton Rouge and New Orleans have excellent Vietnamese and middle. Eastern food and NO even has a few good BBQ joints.

If Louisiana were smart, they'd grant Texas the whole state, become East Texas, and let Texas fix the fricking crappy-assed schools, roads and bridges

Very good idea actually

Texas has a very distinct culture. But with the advent of traveling and relocating being as easy as its ever been, like most places, transplants are watering that down. Eventually no where will really have "unique" culture.

We'll still have movies like No Country For Old Men, Hell or High Water, The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, Blood Simple, Lone Star, The Last Picture Show, Fandango, Lonesome Dove, Hud, and Giant to remind us.

My first job in Dallas required some driving through East Texas, North Louisiana, The whole state of Arkansas, and Eastern Oklahoma. My boss gave me maps with the most scenic drives, and encouraged me to take those routes instead of the interstate at least one time. He had worked those areas when the old roads were the main roads, so he knew more than just the routes. He also told me about all of the hole in the wall restaurants, and bars, along the way. I saw some beautiful, unique, areas of Arkansas, Oklahoma, and East Texas that I would have never known existed by doing it.

Bro...UT Austin enrolls 40,804 undergrad students while LSU enrolls 31,527 students

The State of Texas has 28.7 million people while Louisiana has 4.66 million people

I surely hope UT has higher admission standards than LSU based on those numbers alone

UT-Austin is Top 50 nationally and Top 15 among public universities. LSU is barely in Tier 1. I love LSU and there are some really smart people there. But UT-Austin is in a different league academically. I attended both schools. The difference is obvious.

I don’t even think this was intended to be a comparison between two states. One guy shite on Texas because of his drive on an interstate.

If I judged states based on my interstate travels, driving over the continental divide on I-70 makes me think Colorado would be #1.

How does one determine "culture" while driving on the interstate? This isn't New Orleans east, where you are getting shot by people on the side of the roads as you are going by.
