To feel safer you should slow down some and then probably get in the left lane so you aren't coming up on cars so often.

I have my Tesla FSD setting so it stays in the left lane where it is safer and where it reduces wear on my tires.

They really should build a series of roadways in this country that is designed primarily for moving freight.

That is what they should do.

Oh, wait.

Nope, going to put on some serious miles in the next two months.

No, just lost my nerve to travel like I use to. I’ve never put my freaking hazards on.

Typically no, but I was on a bit of a road trip recently that was filled with road construction and traffic the entire way. I almost lost my "nerve" because I got stressed out. I stopped at Bucees and that saved me.

The Interstate is a boring road. I’ll drive it through Houston and DFW but once I get out of those hellholes I”ll take the old US highways. I like the local restaurants and I like to drive through the small towns like Fredericksburg , Paris, and Dime Box.

Two miles? Hell, those are rookie numbers, son.

That's annoying, but not as annoying as when a regular vehicle sits next to someone for 2 plus miles before passing or that other car makes an exit. Happened this morning to me. After the other vehicle luckily exited, I gave them a moment to move over and they never did, so I blew my horn and held it driving by them in the right lane. Pay attention to your surroundings and don't be inconsiderate assholes people.

The I-80 stretch at the Elk Mountain area between Laramie and Rawlins anytime between late Sept and early May can get bad enough to make anyone pucker.

Go slow and just know black ice is everywhere.

The last few days I’ve done mostly interstate from Houston to Orlando, over to Tampa, and now up to Jacksonville. I prefer the off the beaten path roads, but since I’m hitting specific destinations, I’m resorting to interstate. I was pleasantly surprised by a lack of traffic for the most part. I’ve tried to make it a point to not get so pissed about the slow folks in a particular lane. Safety for me is keeping distance between me and the folks around me.

This is a pretty interesting phenomenon. It appears when people hit a certain age... they absolutely are afraid to travel on the interstate.

I know people who used to slide around gravel roads in their younger days and were fearless but now wouldn't drive through a major city on the interstate if it meant someone would give them a free 5,000 dollars to just do so.

No but I've learned to chill. Hang out in the right lane, do the speed limit or a little more, let the rest of them fight it out.

You're not getting anywhere materially faster by rage driving on the interstate.

I'll still drive the interstate no problem, but for some trips my wife and I have started taking alternate routes on highways. Not from fear of the interstate, but because it's a vacation and it lets you see more scenery and lots of random road side stops and attractions.
