Your post sparked a memory that I hadn't thought about in a long time.
I believe there was a dead rabbit on the road that I could see from a distance as a kid. I then saw this dumptruck drive over it. It went over in such a way a stream of blood squirt a few feet into the air.

I ran over a rabbit once and felt like a dick all day.
But in my defense I adjusted my path to not hit the rabbit and the little shite jumped right back under my tire. Stupid a-hole.

I hit a duck once. I was on my way to work, driving on Highland Road in a light rain, came over a slight hill and a line of ducks was crossing right in front of me. I stopped and moved the poor girl off to the side of the road. Was depressed the rest of the day.
