Saw so many Tahoe's, suburbans, and Yukon's doing at least 85 or 90 on that road.

That is the speed limit in Texas.

Also what's with all the temporary tags?? Colorado had a ton of them

How else you gonna get that stolen F150 down to Matamoros?

Do they not teach Texas drivers to move over after passing? Saw a ton of them sitting in the left lane

You got Washington plates on your car? Pretty much everyone I see in Texas gets over unless they have the temp tags that allow going 90mph

That stretch from Amarillo to Dallas seems to take forever whenever I drive it.

Claude looked like a shite hole when I passed through a long with a few others, some very nice.

You are more observant than I am, I have driven that route 20+ times and if I had never spent that afternoon in the jail and walking to get my car when it all finally got worked out I would never have known Claude existed.

Dalhart DQ is a regular stop for me on that route. Register total for a group of Scouts on the way back from NM on 287 last summer:

Can confirm. When I moved to CO I took that route. I thought I'd die of boredom

Looks like there’s two routes, they only add about 30 minutes to the drive but they look like they could be pretty interesting.

The CO69 (nice) route doesnt have much stuff on it, but the views of the Sangres are incredible.

Then you get to run the Arkansas River from Cotipaxi to Climax (north of Leadville).

And Fremont Pass might be the easiest pass in the state.

Dont go the US 50 route out of Pueblo.
