I assume this isn't allowed, but damn. These dudes won't shut the frick up about 12 steps and a higher power.

I've never been to AA but had to attend a substance abuse awareness class for an underaged drinking ticket in college. Me and one of my classmates smoked a joint in my truck at lunch

I tried AA but ended up going another route. I had the same issue- talking about drinking for an hour just made me want a drink. Just got to find what works for you.

I use to go to meetings weekly. Made me feel a lot better about my life after hearing some of their stories.

That was another thing I noticed about AA. A lot of those guys just seemed like they were trying to one-up each other over who drank more and who did shittier stuff. It was kind of weird.

Not sure what meeting you went to, but there is usually little talk about how fricked up you got. More about how getting fricked up fricked
up your life, and what you are doing to better yourself now.
