Drilling of dinosaur-killing impact crater explains buried circular hills

Yeah, the image posted at the top would be a representation of what it looked like shortly after impact and healing.
What they are drilling is that circular mountain chain after it's been buried by sediments the last 60+ million years. That image of the circular mountains is locked into the ground way below the surface. They expect it to be there and look like that picture... And it does.
With all other layers holding to the geologic principles I listed in my first post. All the data combined props up the idea of an impact site.

I was trying to find a buried mountain on seismic data, and this volcano is the best I could find to illustrate what they are seeing. Imagine this picture is a cross section of the ring at only one point (The volcano being part of the ring). Then you drill the circle both on shore and off and you continue to see the uplift of a mountain in the data in a damn near perfect circle. The only explanation is a giant crater from the impact of a meteor.
The flat layers that bury it go back to horizontality, lateral continuity, superposition, etc. There shouldn't be a mountain there, but it is. Not just a mountain, but a perfect ring of mountains.
