That might work once on a jet but I can tell you from personal experience that the number of very heavily armed patrols on the roads in Venezuela especially coming in from Colombia through the area around San Cristobal and then up through Merida towards either Maracaibo or Caracas are not folks to be trifled with. Their expectations of being remunerated for their searches (which they will conduct and you won’t get a chance to argue about) are not that different from what you would encounter in Nigeria. The same kind of help themselves to your possessions attitude.
