Just retired. Travel does not interest me very much. I like doing projects and doing things for/with my kids, etc. I will visit relatives a bit more and plan for a few get always, like guided hunting or fishing trips. I still ride a dirt bike and do like woods trails. And...

We've been talking about a place in a wine region in Italy. I'd like to spend spring and fall there as a base to explore parts of Europe that interest us. Something with a view like this. Real estate prices aren't bad at all there.

Idt I'll ever see full retirement but hope to slow down to 2-3 days a week. I hope to live close to my kids and spend every weekend at a camp on Toledo Bend or somewheres on the red river.

Live within a couple hours of kids/grandkids on a lake or beach so they come visit often and I can fish everyday.

Spend 6-8 weeks of the year touring North America in a nice truck/5th wheel setup.

I would like to have a nice house in the New Orleans suburbs. Spend my time fishing down in Myrtle Grove (where my fishing camp is) and occasional duck/deer hunting. Wouldn't mind doing some traveling.

I retired in Dec. People told me that I would get bored. They were wrong. I hunt and fish when I want. Wife and I(she retired from school system 8 years ago), go to casino when the mood hits us. I train my retriever, go to one of my camps, fish in my pond if I want to stay home. Do not set an alarm clock and rub it in to my friends who still have to work. Also do not do damn thing if I feel like it.

We've discussed this, but we're both about 30 years away from retirement

We were talking about a place in the islands for several years but we like visiting different islands too much. I'd rather just keep the islands as destinations. Italy on the other hand opens up a world of possibilities and I can see that happening. The second home fund is growing as I type.
