The Butter Battle Book was my favorite. I guess I liked cautionary war stories as a kid.

Born on today’s date in 1904.

There’s a gallery in LaJolla, CA dedicated to his work. LINK

Worth a visit if you are around the areola.

Wrote him a letter in the 3rd grade. He sent me an autographed photo.

Good guy.

Anybody remember Jesse Jackdon’s Reading of Green Eggs and Ham on SNL?

How the Grinch Stole Christmas is his best IMO.

I Had Trouble in Getting To Solla Sollew is my favorite. Very Zen like.

During WWII he produced propaganda cartoons for the War Department that would be considered virulently racist by modern sensibilities.

One Kige, Two Kige,
Kentucky Blue Kige,
Kige reviewing shampoo,
Kige throwing freethrows too,
Ice Bucket challenge, Kige fail,
Used a cup instead of a pail,
Kige running, throwing, jumping,
Like a retard monkey, football humping,
Kige walking ‘round in jorts,
