Anybody else have Matt as primary DR? I love the guy but his new policy starting Jan 1 is that you now must pay an additional monthly fee to become a "member" which comes out to about $120 a month. So in addition to normal healthcare premiums you now must pay to be a member to continue to see him.

This has to be illegal. Sounds like a way to exclude the poor from his practice.

A lot of doctors are going this route.

He's been my doc for 10 years or so. Sucks I have to find a new DR now.

A lot of doctors are going to the VIP medicine route. I think this is the 3rd one my husband has seen in BR who has done this. We go to the doctor for sick visits maybe once or twice a year and our annual physicals are covered by insurance, so it's really not beneficial to us.
Side note: Anyone have a good Primary Care physician in BR they'd recommend?

is it like a retainer where it applies to your services or is it over and above the normal fees?

He must have watched Royal Pains.

I barely ever visit the Dr. and when I do I just go see the specialist for whatever issue it is.

problem is, most ochsner type primary's take freaking 2 weeks to get an appt and when you need an appt, you end up at an urgent care. for a person needing timely appts and care, its a decent investment. lots of times these docs pick up the phone calls, prescribe shite without appts etc when needed.
