Is it more risky than testing for > 1 year? Sure. But, you do realize shutting down this country for much longer will result in a depression the likes of which we have NEVER seen? A functioning economy is not guaranteed in this world. Neither is a democracy.

Brush up on your history.

So you think the quality of data and evidence that supports the entire world shutting down to prevent the Pandemic spreading faster is the same as the quality of data supporting the hydroxychloroquine cure? You must be a special kind of moron to equate the two.
Your issue is with President Trump. All of this is being done by his order and guidance. Dr. Fauci is not President of the United States. Yet you want to believe there is some elaborate conspiracy to make Trump look bad. Here's the reality: Trump is in full control of this situation. Trump appointed Fauci and Birx to the task force. Trump chooses to listen to their opinions on the impact of the virus in the absence of the measures implemented by the federal government. Trump, Trump, Trump. Sensing a pattern. Maybe you're having buyer's remorse?

People want him to say that it is a cure-all and he's not ready to make a blanket statement like that.
What kind of tests were completed for him to buy into this.
He/they don't know crap about this. Looks like they could go out on a limb a little for us.
They have gone way the hell out on a limb with their data models!!!

President Trump/ Dr. Fauci
One is a leader. The other, a doctor and their messages are in keeping with their positions.
Tis the libtards that pit one against the other.
Tis the libtards that are starting shite as usual giving zero fricks about the seriousness of the situation at hand.
Tis a libtard that started this thread making sure to pit the dr. against the president.

Dr. Fauci might soon find himself out of a job as a result.
Because he is a quack that says 600+ people in a study is still anecdotal. Explain that.
If I gave 600 men a pill, and every one of them (without changing diet or exercise) lost fat and gained muscle with little to no side effects. Fauci would still say it doesn’t work, and results are anecdotal.

Yep, starting at the top with the leader of the free world. Dr. Fauci might soon find himself out of a job as a result.
Trump would guarantee a loss in November if he shitcans Fauci.

He's so big on data.
Yet, won't push for random testing of population and antibody testing.
Makes sense.

Not all anecdotal evidence is equal. Some prompt actual scientific testing and study. Hydroxychloriquine seems to show promise and some small scale studies in France as well as Some Chinese studies I would classify as dubious because I just don’t trust the Chinese seem to indicate a benefit to those infected.
I trust those French studies about as much as I would trust Chinese data at this point. If you’ve read the studies you’ll see that they are garbage studies by any objective, scientific metric. Sucks, because I’m really hoping the data will show the drugs work, but those aren’t studies you can base that on.

Can’t you find another moronic catch phrase besides libtard. You bring down the collective IQ on this board by at least 20 points.

He also sometimes pours cold water over himself.
In 2013 test on monkeys was good enough for doctors to have another hepatitis treatment combo as an option for MERS.

In 2013 test on monkeys was good enough for doctors to have another hepatitis treatment combo as an option for MERS.
quote:
The good news is that that the drug combination has been used for decades to treat hepatitis C, Fauci says. So the therapy is already approved for that purpose. "The cautious news is that the number of animals tested is very small — just three animals in each group," Fauci tells Shots. "It would be clearly premature to make any recommendation for treatment based on an animal model with so few [animals] tested."
Still, Fauci says the findings are important because they give doctors an option to try and save a person from MERS. "Individual physicians will have to make up their own mind whether it's worth the last-ditch effort." Ribavirin and interferon together can have serious side effects, such as fever, diarrhea and skin rashes.
In the study, the drugs were given just eight hours after the monkeys had been infected with MERS. So it's unknown if the therapy would be effective after symptoms have already appeared.
But Fauci says that shouldn't stop doctors from considering the treatment. "When you're in a situation that you have a patient dying, you don't ask the question, 'This was used early [in the infection], so should I not try it?' "

“Bottom line. We don’t have to worry about this one, right?” Newsmax anchor Greg Kelly asked Fauci on January 21.
“Obviously, you need to take it seriously, and do the kinds of things that the CDC and the Department of Homeland Security are doing, ” Fauci responded. “But, this not a major threat for the people of the United States, and this is not something that the citizens of the United States right now should be worried about.”

Read it how you want but all he did is not hang his hat on it. That is what scientist do until things are proven. There are multiple studies set up around the country and many hospitals in hot spots already using it. I have heard him say that he hopes that reports of it working pan out. Everything is a fricking spin.

He’s a scientist. He doesn’t piss without doing 99 studies
